Very few people have the means, opportunity, or motivation to do what they really love in this life. I founded Midwest Pet Express upon these principles. After working as an auditor for the commodities industry and a pharmaceutical sales representative for Johnson & Johnson in Chicago, I completed my MBA in Marketing from Indiana University and actually had a very good job in the manufacturing sector of the corporate world; however, something was missing. Ever since I was young, I had a way with animals and I always regretted passing on my true calling in life as a doctor of veterinarian medicine. I was finally comfortable taking the chance to work toward something that would fill the void of helping animals.An opportunity presented itself when my wife was relocated to San Francisco for a long-term project in IT Consulting. I seized the moment by selling our home and subsequently moved out to California for my wife's career. I put our possessions in storage and packed up our car with the bare essentials so that I could make the 2,300-mile journey across the country with our 93 lb. Anatolian Shepherd dog named Bella and 18-year old cat named Jenny. I did not know how else to get the entire family to California safely.When I reached California, I looked for an opportunity to help animals and other people who faced the same situation I did when trying to move my pets from one location to another. My first exposure to the pet relocation business came from one of the best individuals in the field who had over 20 years experience. She was invaluable in passing along her knowledge and I subsequently decided to move back to Chicago to start my own pet transportation business.
